Merry Christmas! Ronin Arts for everybody! To celebrate the holidays, OgreCave and Ronin Arts have a present for you. Well, mostly Ronin Arts. Anyway, until the end of Christmas Day, you can follow this link to download a free PDF copy of the expanded, deluxe version of vs. Monsters (which made our Christmas Gift Guide, by the way). I don't know what's worse -- having to read how impressed the author is with himself or navigating the bizarre layout. Now I know to stay away from Ronin Arts games. Thanks.

As to keeping clear of Ronin Arts, it is your loss. They do some fine products. Have a look at the Fourth Millenium Campaign Model for interesting Science Fiction, or for Motocaust for post-apocalyptic road warrior zombie horror. Besides that, thereis a multitude of interesting little d20 titles that offer plenty for very little money. In the mean time Sir, I await the efforts of your nephew with keen interest.

December 25, 2004 11:05 PM: Brian says... I find vs Monsters to be an excellent game, and well worth the price, as I've found Ronin Art's products to be in general. In fact, I've recommended both vs Monsters and Motocaust to friends far and wide. I highly doubt anyone's 14 year old nephew can do better.

December 26, 2004 08:30 PM: Starhawk says... I've never understood why OgreCave waits to post its Xmas Gift Guide until just a couple of days before the holiday. Makes it impossible to use as a guide for shopping.

Yeah, we were a bit late in getting the d20 list in particular finalized, but the downloadable list is intentionally posted just a couple days before, since that's the "panic" list. :-) Hopefully the lists will still serve to point out some great products from the past year, and at the very least, suggest what those gift certificates could be used for.
