White Wolf names new Vampire line developer

Former Atlas team member Will Hindmarch has been brought aboard at White Wolf as the Line Developer for Vampire: The Requiem, the recent relaunch of the popular RPG property. Justin Achilli, longtime Developer and Intellectual Property Manager for the previous Vampire line, has stepped into the role of Vice President of Editing & Development. Considering how Hindmarch has written multiple, well-received books for Vampire: The Masquerade, here's hoping White Wolf fans won't be worried about the change.

White Wolf press release follows:

White Wolf Names Will Hindmarch Line Developer of “Vampire: The Requiem,”
Justin Achilli Editing & Development Manager

Atlanta, GA, November 18, 2004 — White Wolf Publishing today announced an important staff change with Justin Achilli becoming Editing & Development Manager and Will Hindmarch succeeding Achilli as Line Developer for Vampire: The Requiem.

Achilli had been Developer and Intellectual Property Manager for Vampire: The Masquerade since 1998 and spearheaded the creative development of its successor property, Vampire: The Requiem. Requiem launched this past August to great acclaim. “I enjoyed a six-year run developing Vampire,” said Achilli. “The new World of Darkness is a perfect place to let a developer with a fresh set of ideas take the reins.” As Vice President of Editing & Development, Achilli will oversee the development of new intellectual properties and the editorial portion of product development.

Taking the helm of White Wolf’s flagship product line is Will Hindmarch. “Will is a veteran of Vampire writing,” said Achilli, “and I know his vision and panache will suit the game well.” In addition to writing credits for White Wolf (including Victorian Age: Vampire and Kindred of the Ebony Kingdom), Hindmarch has done extensive writing and development for Fantasy Flight Games and Atlas Games.

Said Hindmarch, "The passion and enthusiasm that's been put into Vampire by all its writers and artists has a momentum all its own. My plan is to maintain that level of quality by following Justin Achilli's original trajectory on the line. I've followed Vampire as a player, as a fan, and as a writer, so my expectations for the game are as high as anyone's; I've never been so excited to have such hard work to do."

Since its entry into the roleplaying game market in 1991, White Wolf Publishing, Inc. has grown, maintaining an average market share of 26%. With collective book sales in excess of 5.5 million copies during this time, White Wolf is one of two undisputed worldwide publishing leaders for pen-and-paper roleplaying games. White Wolf properties have been licensed for television series, comic books, action figures, console and computer video games, coin-operated arcade games, professional wrestlers, replica props and weapons, interactive media events, and a myriad of merchandise. The relaunch of Vampire was a HUGE dud for us. It came out of the game stiff as a corpse (ha!) Anyone actually playing?

But who's taking over Feng Shui for Atlas Games? That's what I wanna know.

I was fortunate enough to get in a game with Will at GenCon. Alas for times past...
