Wingnut Games recently announced a publishing agreement with Ferry Bazelmans to bring his SOAP roleplaying game to print. Recently released as a PDF, SOAP is a game of "soap opera mayhem." Yes, indeed. As the company blurb says, "your character is likely to be shot by ex-lovers, undergo a life-threatening operation, have multiple affairs, save a family member and get into a car crash all in the space of ninety minutes!" Perhaps even more interesting is the goal of revealing the secrets other characters have while protecting your own, scoring points along the way to determine the final winner. I wonder if catfights are worth anything, or if a trip to the Daytime Emmys comes into play. SOAP will see printed form in February 2003.
